Honestly they clearly got their talking points as the Trump worship going on in CNN is just appalling -- absolutely barf-inducing. They are screeching about how amazingly presidential Trump looked, how incredibly well he READ THE STUPID TELEPROMPTER, how dignified, etc etc. Now they are exclaiming that Gorsuch is the most amazing nominee ever, and that the democrats are doomed. Again, FU CNN. And a big FU to the fat orange pig Rump.
Oh, and Gorsuch was a Rhodes Scholar -- Trump said Marshall Scholar. Of course Trump wouldn't know the difference.

(5,611 posts)It was very obvious to me that they (meaning Wolf and co) already were planning to do a "positive review" of Trump's rollout -- and I have watched CNN (off and on) for years and certainly during the election cycle. They have done this sort of wild flip-flop on Trump before unfortunately. Who knows why, maybe they want the orange's approval, but now that Tapper is on the tone has improved.

(5,611 posts)I have observed many times some statement or issue presented on CNN coming up later in the discussions/perceptions of an issue or candidate. They broke news stories throughout the campaign last year. Sure -- cable news doesn't have the impact it did ten (much less twenty) years ago. Of course I spend the majority of my time online like every Gen Xer and Millenial. But it is still important -- as is Fox and also MSNBC even though the former is vile and the latter has lower ratings.
Jake Tapper is on, and he is much more reasonable (right now at least) than Wolf. Now Wolf is back on again, and he asking about the "cloak and dagger" details of how Gorsuch was brought in without the big secret coming out.
CNN is not what it was (obviously NONE of the cable news channels have significant Gen X or Millenial viewership, not CNN, not Fox, not MSNBC, and of course the big "cbs news hour" sorts of shows have been in serious decline for years) but I am still interested in how they present material. These stories, and their manner of presentation, show up on Twitter and FB and Reddit.

(1,258 posts)and other talking heads about if he gets through, knowing damn well they have the majority! he will with the help of Democrats.
The only thing I could think of was Mitch McConnell MFKER! stating how they wouldn't let Obama's nominee through but then starts chastising Democrats about these nominees,Hypocritical

(5,611 posts)Jim Acosta is interviewing Ted Cruz. UGH. Thinks that now Roe v. Wade will be crippled. If it's possible, Cruz is even uglier (his black heart that is)
Wolf is back on. I don't think I can't take it much longer -- though he isn't as hysterical as he was initially. Now he is asking reasonable questions.

(2,573 posts)The uproar will dwarf that...and that's a fact. Almost 70% of American's favor Roe v. Wade....so bring it.

(2,056 posts)Wolf is OK some of the time but some of the time he's a tool. Pretty much everyone else is good. Once in awhile they will have a guest on who likes him...Like Jeffrey Lord or Jack Kingston. I'd like to kick them both in the balls.
Best options to watch are Chris Cuomo first thing in the AM, Jake Tapper, Erin Burnett, Van Jones...and usually Anderson Cooper is OK and everyone else is good too. Wolf is the worst one and he's not always bad, lol.

(5,611 posts)the entire conversation b/c they handled this so amazingly. John King CLEARLY got the talking points. He is trying to argue that this five minute announcement erases the last week of disasters. I mean how hard is it to read a TelePrompTer and pat a guy in the back?

(2,056 posts)All the women hosts, Chris Cuomo, Brian Seltzer, Jake Tapper, Van Jones...they are good. Don't watch as much on weekend, though...just avoid Wolf mostly and you won't get as pissed, lol.

(12,409 posts)so not surprising that they need to try to justify their work. As he continues to screw the country and the world, it will all eventually go back to being Obama's or Hillary's fault.

(92,433 posts)essentially just get the locals. No CNN, no MSNBC, no fox, no CNBC.
There are plenty of places to get news. The major Newspapers for one, bbc, even PBS Newshour or Bloomberg
The cable networks are a joke, and a perfect forum for Paddy Chayefsky's vision of Network
I personally will not be patronizing these sorry excuses for their pseudo news

(17,276 posts)PbS Newshour went live tonight. NPR is a reliable source. No need for the "shows" as DT calls them.
I also read NYT and the opinions at WaPo. And The Nation and The Atlantic.

(13,616 posts)CNN is whimpering since Trump threatened to cut them off, so of course they're trying to go ahead and please master by offering them whatever sacrifice they can do. Granted this is not as egregious as the stuff that is on MSNBC, but it's getting there rather quick.

(3 posts)I noticed this happening during the election. Every time you turn to that channel it was all trump 24/7 it made me sick. I have noticed that all the decent reporters are fleeing this half assed so called news station, good for them. Water ass Wolf and that type of reporting is all that's left, what a joke.
