Whether out of error or intention, Microsoft have been blocking access to the Free Software Foundations
donation form on corporate systems using the companys
Security Networking programme.
The block, which will only have affected a small number of people, was put in place after
Microsofts Reputation Service judged it to be a gambling site.
Seriously.
Whilst hiccups do happen, the blocking of a fully registered nonprofit charity that has been around for almost 30 years does seem, in all fairness, to be ludicrous.
One boon to come from the mess-up is that the FSF are getting exposure and ammunition for their cause, as this recent jab shows:
