Radio talk show host Dale Jackson suspended from WVNN for one week

HUNTSVILLE, AL -- Morning talk show host Dale Jackson has been suspended from his duties for a week beginning Monday because of an on-air prank, according to a statement on the station's Web site.

"We believe that there should be a very clear difference in opinion and news," the statement said. "Mr. Jackson has been instructed to keep that difference very plain in the future."

Jackson posted a fake news release on WVNN's Web site encouraging those who planned to vote for Democrat Laura Hall to wait until Wednesday to vote because of overcrowding at the polls. Hall lost the District 7 special election to Republican Paul Sanford.

The Attorney General's Office announced Wednesday that it would review the fake release, which included a version of the official state seal. Chris Bence, spokesman for Attorney General Troy King, said Jackson could face a felony charge for using the state seal to further trade or business, a violation of state law that carries a 10-year prison sentence.

Along with Jeff Jobe, an avowed Trump supporter from Kentucky who owned a local weekly community newspaper.

Clearly they're trying to manufacture a much more sympathetic narrative than deal with any hard questions.
