Democratic National Committee (DNC) interim chairwoman Donna Brazile on Saturday praised the federal judge who temporarily halted President Trump’s travel ban, saying “no man is above the law.”

"He stood up, and said, 'No.' This is America. We do not discriminate based on religion. That is what terrorists do, and what terrorists want us to do. But we know better, even when our President does not," Brazile said in a statement.

"And, just as important, our Departments of State and Homeland Security have followed the judge’s order. They obeyed the law, not the boss. And in doing so, they demonstrated that this is still a nation of laws, where no man is above the law."

Brazile in her statement said America’s people and values have “been under assault” and that “the fate of our nation, this grand democratic experiment, seemed to hang in the balance.”

“But overnight, we got news. A judge – appointed by a Republican President – rose to meet this moment,” Brazile said.

3. The judge upheld the law. Simple as that. I don't like the interpretation of this event

that the judge was heroic, or "rose to the moment." This was a judge doing what judges do every day. This is exactly what Donald Trump does not understand.

This judge is not making a political statement. The judge is upholding the law.

And sometimes judges make decisions we disagree with. At those times we don't call them "so-called judges."
