What would it have taken on 1933 to stop Hitler in his tracks? And the question today is comparable. Resistance and protest are find as far as they go. But it's not enough. maybe the conventional checks and balances will prevail in the end. But at what costs in the meantime.

the conventional checks and balances – the courts in particular – are being undermined by partisanism, where conservative ideologues, hostile to settled, accepted Constitutional jurisprudence and sound, responsible governance, will seek to destroy those Constitutional safeguards, rendering Americans with no recourse to seek relief from the violation of their rights and protected liberties.

Indeed, if the Supreme Court had five non-conservative justices in their 50s, Trump would be nothing but a tedious annoyance.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case – should the bigot Trump get the opportunity to replace Kennedy, Breyer, or Ginsburg on the Court, the rights of every American would be in jeopardy; in fact, it could take 50 years, perhaps more, to restore the rights of millions of Americans through the political process.

Or have you seen more protests against him? I was really surprised today seeing more protests. There is rage pent up by those shocked by chumps illegitimate win and the horrible direction this country could go negative rather quickly. It's not going away.

start flocking to him because their fear will make them divide people further into us and them.

As of now, he doesn't have the populist support. However, it took Hitler a while also.

I really hope it doesn't go that way, but that is my fear. That and nuking some other country and/or getting nuked in addition.

He was guilty of a lot of false equivalence before he finally, reluctantly, started supporting her.
