(45,806 posts)I;m a die hard Steeler fan (born in Pgh.) but I really want the Falcons to beast Brady! He's just too arrogant and egotistic for me. Heard a few comments from Brady from this past week. He's certain nobody can beat him.
GO Ryan!

(11,175 posts)Trump carried Georgia and all states that border it.
Hillary carried Massachusetts and all states that border it.
Must've been a lot of Trump voters exulting right along with you.

(61,695 posts)As John Che said on SNL Saturday night, "I'm looking forward to seeing the blackest city in America take on the most racist city in America."
We didn't win, but at least our team doesn't have a history of blatant cheating.

(11,175 posts)Reading the "Greatest" in reverse chron, I found so many threads rubbing it in partway through the game that I couldn't resist.
Incidentally, re "blatant cheating", let's not forget the NFL's venture into alternative facts -- the false and uncorrected charge that 11 of the 12 footballs were found underinflated. I'll bet millions of people still believe that lie.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to the "Greatest" page. I'm eager to see what the more recent threads look like.

You know who else was exulting with me when the Falcons were winning: Atlanta Congressperson John Lewis
And now that we got that homework out of the way:
Best wishes for great results tomorrow,
Bill Belichick
I would have rooted for the freaking Bucs last night.

(11,175 posts)And my friends and family there, from the many years I lived there, were all or almost all among the 2.0 million who voted for Hillary. In only three states did she get a higher percentage of the vote.
Not surprising that John Lewis was rooting for the Falcons. Without doing any research, I'll hazard a guess that so were those mighty progressive champions, Jonny Isakson and David Perdue. For my part, I proudly stand with Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren in supporting the Patriots.

(99,710 posts)Belichick's effusive praise of Drumpf is going to rub any leftie who isn't tied to the Patriots the wrong way.
Here's my paean to a Patriot who opposes Drumpf:

(11,175 posts)The Boston Globe had to print its Florida edition before the game ended. Check out "Boston Globe Subscribers in Florida Woke Up in a World Where the Patriots Lost" and you'll see the featured photo: a dejected Tom Brady on the ground after he couldn't stop Alford's pick-6.
And thanks for the link about Martellus Bennett! I wonder what's better -- to skip the White House ceremony, or to attend wearing a black armband or the like.

(99,710 posts)The latter is asking a young man to ignite a maelstrom that even I might be loathe to do if I was in his position. His quiet protest is enough and all any fair person can expect of him.
