So we have come to this now:

Slashing the Environmental Protection Agency's budget in order to cripple it from doing its job. And it gets worse. If Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) manages to get his bill passed it will completely abolish the EPA. This is serious, folks. I don't think Trump voters realized the damage a government under complete control of Republicans could and would do to this country. Are we really a nation that does not value science, clean air and safe water? Is profit worth more than the lives that will be lost by our return to the pre-EPA days? I would like to think we are better than this. But based on the extremists now in control of our government, right now that doesn't appear to be the case.

And if that isn't bad enough think about this: we are entering the third week of this administration and already the Constitution is under assault, the deregulation of Wall Street is in the works, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is facing abolishment, the ACA is on its way to repeal with no replacement in sight, many of our allies have been insulted and threatened, the president has compared America to the brutality of a Russian government under Vladimir Putin's control, Russian interference in our election system is under investigation, top administration advisors were investigated for conspiring with Russian hackers, the disclosure of monies paid to foreign governments by the US oil and gas industry has been blocked opening the door to bribery and kickbacks, scientific data paid for by taxpayers is now hidden from public view, scientists have seen gagged, Animal Welfare Act data was removed from the USDA website, the Joining Forces program that helped military veterans find employment was taken off the White House website, defunding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and National Public Radio is in the pipeline, as is stripping the National Endowment for the Arts of funds, what is shaping up as the most dishonest administration in history has accused the media of dishonesty, the president falsely alleged that five million undocumented aliens voted and an investigation is needed, voting rights are facing tougher restrictions, federal judges have been ridiculed, the president has not fully divested himself of his business entanglements and his authority is clouded by numerous conflicts-of-interest, the public is being conditioned to accept the administration's lies as "alternative facts," universities and major cities have been threatened with the loss of federal funds, public education funds are targeted for diversion to charter and private schools, the heightened possibility of trade wars looms on the horizon, easily accessible health care for hundreds-of-thousands of women is about to be stripped away, a similar number of poor Americans are faced with removal from Medicaid, Social Security is threatened with major cuts, Medicare privatization is in the planning stages, China and North Korea are under the threat of US military action, and the groundwork for war with Iran is now being laid.

And a mere 15 days after his inauguration the president flew to Florida for a golf vacation.

GOP controlled West Virginia is one of the most ruined due to coal mining.

But Benghazi counts for more in the minds of Trump voters.

We can't have the people running paedophile rings out of pizza joints, running the country.

Only the man accused of statutory rape can save the country!

Is it reductive? Yes. But we nuance these issues to death at our peril.

Actually a double extinction level event with both climate change and nuclear war.

And yes, when I said "another" it means I already had one for lunch.

My liver is not going to survive a Trump regime of four years. In fact, I may not make it for a year at this rate.

Something has to give...and soon.

I emailed by state rep. (who is red but I write anyway). It really helps to have an actual bill number to talk about.

I don't know if my rep. is on the Science, Space and technology committee, but he is hearing from me anyway.
It is H.R. 861 to terminate the EPA in case anyone else wants to email or call their reps.

there isn't a Spaced-Out Committee for certain Republican members of Congress. Louie Gohmert would be the perfect person to chair the committee.
