WHILE YOU'RE AT IT, call your senators and tell them to oppose Sessions, too. His scheduled vote is today or tomorrow.

(4,307 posts)After I was through calling Democratic Senators, I called Sasse, Murkowski, Collins, McCain, and Graham and left messages pointing out that there are many good public school teachers and administrators who are Republicans, and I suggested that they nominate one of THEM to be Secretary of Education. ( I also called Jeff Sessions's office to register my disapproval of his remark about working with disabled children being "irritating" to teachers-totally false). Who else should I call? Any ideas?

(9,253 posts)You can call others but most are primarily concerned w/ what their own constituents think. Give them your zip code when you call. Sometimes it's important to call Senators on various committees such as the Senate Judiciary Committee - esp if they're your senators. But Sessions nomination has already been moved to the full Senate.
THANK YOU for calling them!

(4,307 posts)A polite young man answered the phone. He seemed to like my idea about getting a good Republican public school administrator for the job.

(4,307 posts)I just left a message; his office answers with "6342 is on the phone....please leave a message after the tone." This Facebook poster just said he is rumored to be wavering. That is 202-224-6342.
