Microsoft joins other tech firms in filing legal brief opposing Trump immigration ban

Microsoft, Apple, Google, Facebook and other tech firms have filed a legal brief opposing President Donald Trump’s executive order banning immigration.

In all, 97 companies signed on to the legal brief as a show of solidarity against Trump’s immigration ban.

The tech companies filed the amicus brief Sunday evening in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, according to Bloomberg.

On Friday, U.S. District Court Senior Judge James Robart in Seattle granted Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s request to immediately halt implementation of President Donald Trump’s immigration ban. The temporary restraining order was granted nationwide.

Seattle has emerged as a center of opposition to Trump's travel ban.
