The White House has distributed a list of 78 terrorist attacks to support Donald Trumps claim that the media is failing to properly report them.
But the list includes many atrocities that received blanket western media coverage including the Paris Bataclan attacks, the Nice truck killings and the San Bernardino shootings.
Many others including the Sydney siege and Germanys Christmas market attack received wide international coverage.
The list also includes multiple errors and spelling mistakes, including San Bernadino, and excludes numerous terror attacks across the Middle East.
The release comes after the US president told military leaders in Tampa, Florida, on Monday that there have been attacks all over Europe but in many cases the very, very dishonest press doesnt want to report it. He added, They have their reasons, and you understand that, but did not expand.
Later the White House press secretary Sean Spicer was asked about specific attacks that had not been reported to which he replied: Well provide a list later. Theres several instances
Theres a lot of instances that have occurred where I dont think theyve gotten the coverage it deserved.

(58,785 posts)these guys are conservative extremists who swarmed around a dangerously mentally dysfunctional and unprincipled president in hopes of schmoozing and manipulating away power.
It is funny watching them..."function," though. Oh, to be a political scientist right now. Or even a would-be philosopher ambitious for attention.

(54,426 posts)As for ignoring terrorist attacks (or, especially, warnings thereof), the Republicans still hold the World Cup Trophy in that category, dating back to 2001. Not even a serious challenge to the title.

(74 posts)Just saying these happened is enough. It's like porn for his base, keeps them up. They could clarify this with details and witness testimony, but we're going to just let it dribble in the torrent of lies from the GOP that never get debunked, and never ends. We don't need no more information, this tall tale has served its purpose. We are all Bowling Green now...

(65,134 posts). . .don't you have to turn off spellcheck? I know my versions of Chrome and work email all automatically spellcheck unless you go into the preferences and turn it off. Not talking auto-correct, but at least the alerts that a word is wrong is automatic, at least in my recent experience.

(3,208 posts)They want us to think there are so many terrorist attacks going on that there needs to be a ban on certain people coming into the country. But yet so many people are being killed each year with guns and nothing can be done about that.
I am not sure what tRump is really trying to accomplish by this stance. It is reminding me of how he got his followers riled up with those two ideas and made them in to chants and there is no substance.

President Donald Trump on Monday accused the media of deliberately minimizing coverage of threat posed by ISIS, saying news outlets "have their reasons" for not reporting what he described as a "genocide" underway at the hands of group.
The president did not immediately offer evidence to support his claim, made during the new commander in chief's first visit to the headquarters for U.S. Central Command.
Later, the White House released a list of 78 attacks it described as "executed or inspired by" ISIS since September 2014. The White House said "most" on the list did not get sufficient media attention, although it did not explain how it defined the term. Some of the incidents on the list received widespread attention and deep reporting, including a shooting that wounded a Philadelphia police officer.
<...>
The Associated Press could not verify that each of the incidents had connections to ISIS. The list appeared to be hastily assembled, including several misspellings of the word "attacker."

(10,130 posts)They consistently tell their viewers that they are the only ones covering any story. I have a friend that watches fox and he always claims that FN is the only one covering something - even though w/ a quick Google he would see that literally EVERYONE is covering that same story, often long before he sees it there. This is how Donny the Wig thinks and I'd bet he heard this either there or on some other propaganda engine.

(15,345 posts)that seized federal land in Oregon?
How about the nutbags in fatigues in Arizona that threatened to assassinate Bureau of Land Management employees and FBI Officers?
What about the "white Christians" that walked into a diner and shot two police officers while they were eating lunch.
Oh, there was also that T-Bagger that shot Representative Gabbard and 7 others, including a 7 year old girl.
Wait, I'm forgetting something...oh yeah, how about the white guy that went into a classroom of 5 and 6 year olds and slaughtered 20 of them...some of the weapons used in that attack were so powerful, and the victims so small that THEIR TORSOS HAD BEEN BLOWN IN HALF!!!!!!!!
Let me say that again. The weapons were so powerful, and the victims so small, that many had THEIR TORSOS BLOWN IN HALF!!!
I'm convinced that the only reason we didn't get some common sense gun restrictions after that massacre is because the crime scene photos were never released to the public.
