111 degrees by Friday here in some parts of Tennessee.

I've lived here a long time and never seen temperatures this high this early in the season. July and August are just around the corner when highs temps are expected. http://www.wunderground.com/weather-forecast/37201

This is showing temps for Nashville in general at 102 by Friday. We are getting into a drought situation fast.

I would expect this numbers out west but not here.

There is a noticeable increase in the temperature across the states. I still have the scars from living in a hellish place. I can empathize.

They dismiss it when it snows, so are they "fair and balanced" when the temps reverse?
Doubt it.

This past winter (in Indiana) was the first in my lifetime (I'll be 52) when there wasn't one major snowfall (meaning enough snow to shovel, and enough to delay or close schools). Not one. In fact, weather experts have said that our summer actually began in March, since temperatures hit in the 80s then. In February, in fact, we were having thunderstorms.

Really a huge change. And then there was the spring and summer it never rained. People in their 80's and 90's stating that they had *never* seen that happen here, and commenting that squirrels couldn't find nuts to put away for the winter.

..."in their life."

Temps may get as high as 106 here tomorrow. The heat watch is now an excessive heat warning and goes from Thursday morning through Friday evening. We're also under a fire warning.

Friday will be "a little cooler," but the humidity will be higher so there won't be much difference in how hot it feels.

What's scary is that as hot and dry as it is, it is also very windy. Any spark from anywhere could start a very major fire.

The temperature swings in the center of the continent are really pretty remarkable.

I wish everyone down there protection from the heat.

101 degrees. Only 4 times in recorded history has it gotten up to 100. It appears it may be moving east. It's no fun.

but he has to go out of town for his job. But it is not supposed to be much cooler here in North Georgia. Weather reports predict 99 degrees by Friday. I hate, hate, hate summer. Bring on winter even though we did not have much of that this year.
