(7,006 posts)For Bringing It For Real to #PresidentAgentOrange At The Grammy's!
This is what Conscious Hip-Hop is about!
For those who don't follow the Conscious Hip-Hop community, #FYI -- it's not what you hear normally on a radio station near you.
In fact, Conscious Hip-Hop came to a head in the 1990's when the Corporatization of America's Radio Industry started to take place and any real Hip-Hop that was based on "The Spreading of Knowledge" and #Resistance was forced into the Underground Community.
What allowed for this AWESOME performance you experienced today? Groups and Artists like A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Busta, Public Enemy, N.W.A, KRS-One, OutKast, Eric B and Rakim using the Mic to spread knowledge before the age of #BubbleGumRappers.
The Kid Kendrick Lamar has this same style but Kendrick is a rarely and not the norm among today's Rappers. And he was a hit on the Underground Circuit before you EVER heard him on the radio or ever won a Grammy.
Want to SUPPORT bringing Conscious Hip-Hop back (and return real s**t) into the Millennial Generation minds for they will not be inclined to "sit out" in 2020)? Buy ATCQ's new album, "We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service" on iTunes or at your local Record Store.
This is what is needed folks. The poisoning of the Hip-Hop Millenial generation minds been on purpose and we NEED Old Skool Conscious Hip-Hop to pull it out of the gutter to #Resist #Resist #Resist #PresidentAgentOrange #Cheeto.
P/S: Another Fact. A Tribe Called Quest last Commerical album was nearly 20 years ago in 1998 but, you would have never known otherwise with this Grammy Performance, today.
