President Pussygrabber has a weird way of shaking hands. His herky-jerky grappling style sometimes makes it look like hes fighting with the other person, and maybe even trying to rip their arm out of its socket. But Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared prepared for an uncomfortable greeting when he visited the White House on Monday.
A video of Pussygrabber welcoming Trudeau shows the prime minister quickly grasping the pussygrabbers shoulder with his left arm, seemingly bracing for a potential pull. Trudeau then brings the handshake close and toward his center, cutting off Pussygrabbers leverage and ensuring that his shoulder remains intact.
The whole affair still seemed forceful and perhaps even aggressive, at least by Canadian standards. But it lacked the awkwardness of a number of recent Pussygrabber handshakes.

(269,063 posts)and I observed and said to another friend that he and his two (young) adult sons have literally turned out to be like brothers and he said he day he realized that the second one was stronger than him was the day he realized that the dad is boss days were over.
That is what Justin did to Bustin' today - let him know that he was the Prime Minister of another sovereign country - don't fuck Con man.
It was a thing of beauty that the entire world needed

(253 posts)I have noticed on more than one occasion Trump's tactic of grabbing the other person's hand and pulling him/her towards him in what I believe to be a deliberate attempt to upset the balance of the other. The idea is to make the other take a short step toward Trump in order not to fall forward. I am convinced that Trump does this as part of his dominance (read "bullying" display. Perhaps the most egregious example of this was Trump's treatment of Japanese Prime Minister Abe this past weekend. (In that case Trump and Abe were sitting, so that the dominance display took the form of not letting go of the Prime Minister's hand for an extended period of time.)
I surmise that Trudeau and his diplomats planned and practiced his brilliant job of thwarting Trump attempt to carry out his standard handshake ritual. I think that this non-plussed Trump. If you watch the video at the end of the "hand-shake" Trump tried again to pull Trudeau's hand toward him -- and failed. Trudeau must have considerable hand and arm strength in order to have been able to repel Trump's ploy. I further suggest that the Canadians carefully (and successfully) choreographed Trudeau's response to Trump's crass behavior.
Congratulations Mr. Prime Minister for a well planned and well done job! You have been a model for all of us south of the border.

(4,447 posts)Pulling someone else towards you is definitely an attempt at dominance. Some men do something a little more subtle; in the middle of a handshake, they turn their hand over on the top. I've shaken hands with a couple of men who tried this on me. I locked my wrist and smiled as they attempted (futilely) to turn their hand over. Nope. You don't get dominance. I'm really happy with Trudeau for stumping Trump on the handshake.

(22,298 posts)release the grip & pull your hand back towards you. That throws their little alpha male bs off too.

(31,261 posts)The dominant handshake crap on you. Keep ahold of their hand and step toward them so that you tower over them - hold their hand for a couple seconds more, then let it go, but DON'T step back, force them to step backward.
