Totally worse for him. Better to stay a democratic senator and see how it goes.

He is sleaze. He will wait to see how the tRump admin is at the end of the year. If in the decline, (likely) he will stay. Otherwise he will jump ship. The Dems should force his hand NOW.

What better time than right at the start of the year. He had absolutely nothing to lose by switching. Come to think of it, switching after 2014 would have been an opportune moment for him. Why didn't he? FWIW I would rather put up with his RW sleazing than lose another Democratic seat.

That Trump is a sinking ship and will take republicans with him. Manchin is playing the odds in West Virginia and is acting like a bluedog Democrat.
