... he's a YUGE! liability - and has been since day one.

The GOP have spent the last three weeks in constant fear of the other shoe dropping - and it's been a non-stop storm of dropping shoes from the day Trump took office.

They have Pence (the guy they wanted in the first place) waiting in the wings. They've been waiting for Trump's numbers to deteriorate to the point that even his own "base" is eroded, meaning no backlash from voters who will cry he's being treated unfairly, or being "forced out" by the PTB. They undoubtedly wanted those voters on-side when Trump gets dumped.

Well, it looks like fate has intervened. The rank-and-file Republican voters, notorious "commie-haters", have never been comfortable with Donnie cozying up to Putin/Russia - and will be quick to turn on him if they suspect any collusion between them (which, of course, the PTB in the GOP can play-up to their advantage).

No matter how this plays out with Flynn, etc., the Republicans now have a golden opportunity to force Trump out via the threat of a publicly humiliating impeachment process if he doesn't step down voluntarily, install Pence as POTUS (no more crazy tweets at 3 am about Nordstrom's, etc.), and placate their Russian-hating base by reverting to their previous "we hate commies, too" stance.

Trump is now skating on very thin ice within his own party. And I don't think he has the intellectual wherewithal to even understand just how thin that ice is, and how many people will be more than happy to see him fall through it.
