Wow! I guess we need to investigate Rep Devin Nunes too.

From NYT:

Representative Devin Nunes, Republican of California and the chairman of the House intelligence committee, was supportive of Mr. Flynn until the end. “Washington, D.C., can be a rough town for honorable people, and Flynn — who has always been a soldier, not a politician — deserves America’s gratitude and respect,” Mr. Nunes said in a statement.

WTF? Flynn obviously LIED about his contact with Russia. He has been in high level government positions with security clearance for YEARS. He KNEW what he was doing was wrong. What is wrong with Nunes? Does he need to be investigated too? His statement just boggles the mind. We are talking about a guy who collaborated with RUSSIA and then lied about it.

His statement made me really believe we were going to get stuck with Flynn. Obviously, there is more proof the trump team can't deny.

Nunes chair of House Intelligence Committee and member of Trump's transition team cast doubt on CIA assessment of Russia's interference.

I thought you were going overboard on Nunes but then I re-read The Guardian article from December 2016 where Nunes was covering for Russia and Trump.

report>

A separate report in the New York Times, also sourced to unnamed officials, claimed US intelligence agencies had discovered that Russian hackers had also penetrated the Republican National Committee’s networks, but conspicuously chose to release only the information stolen from the Democrats.

A third report, by Reuters, said intelligence agencies assessed that as the campaign drew on, Russian government officials devoted increasing attention to assisting Trump’s effort to win the election. Virtually all the emails they released publicly were potentially damaging to Clinton and the Democrats, the official told Reuters.

The California Republican congressman Devin Nunes, chair of the House intelligence committee and a member of the Trump transition team, said: “I’ll be the first one to come out and point at Russia if there’s clear evidence, but there is no clear evidence – even now. There’s a lot of innuendo, lots of circumstantial evidence, that’s it.”

They claim it was nothing important, but since Trump lies at least 80% of the time (literally), I assume they are lying.

The only logical explanation for behavior of both Trump and many members of the GOP in relation to Russia is that Putin also has dirt on them and they know it.

Lying to Pence to protect Trump is being loyal to the Big Guy so he sees that as not wrong. And tipping the Ruskies that Trump will scotch the sanctions is good for world peace in his mind. I bet he views himself as heroic, sacrificing himself for the Big Guy and the nation.

because he probably assumed he'd get a pardon for it (and therein lies the "who else knew" part). I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't already been drafted up by the GrimReaper™ to be signed at some point in time.

Ryan and McConnell for a start. Tried to cover up and suppress a real investigation.

Nunes is a partisan snake. Most of the Republicans in Congress are. They are not interested in what is best for the nation.

They are interested in permanent power. Nothing else.
