http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/jason-chaffetz-michael-flynn_us_58a31aa2e4b03df370da45b9?Its taking care of itself, said Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah).
House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) said Tuesday he will not pursue an investigation into what contacts Michael Flynn had with the Russian government before Dump took office, and whether Flynn then lied about his communications.
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, said Monday that he will do an investigation ― but regarding the leaks of details about Flynns call, rather than his actual conduct. Nunes, who was part of the executive committee of Trumps transition team, also put out a statement offering nothing but praise for Flynn after he announced he would step down from the administration.
Michael Flynn served in the U.S. military for more than three decades. Washington, D.C. can be a rough town for honorable people, and Flynn ― who has always been a soldier, not a politician ― deserves Americas gratitude and respect for dedicating so much of his life to strengthening our national security, he said in a statement. I thank him for his many years of distinguished service.
House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said he believed it was the right thing to do for Flynn to resign, but he did not weigh in on whether Congress should investigate further.

(16,863 posts)Flynn was pushed out of the service because of his actions and now he's being made scapegoat by this administration and now Congress is complicit. They're trying to sweep this whole mess under the rug as if there's nothing to see there. I should be shocked, but this is par for the course.

(16,079 posts)...his "dedication" meant shit! The one thing expected of all officers is integrity, and Flynn has proved he has none...and is not deserving of praise or accolades!
And any praise coming from a hack like Nunes, is worthless!!!

(3,245 posts)Who did Flynn lie to?
Pence is saying that he lied to him (and whomever those others were) about the details of his calls to Russia? Sorry, to me, that's just words justifying Flynn's falling on his sword to protect the admin.
Lying to Congress? Well, we know from the statements from the GOP leadership in the House and Senate that they really don't give a rat's ass if he lied or not.
Flynn didn't have to worry about reprecussions. Yeah, he loses his job. I don't think this is a resume killer for him.
