All Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) would say about the meeting was that Comey has no credibility.
Rep. John Delaney (D-Md.) wouldnt get into the details about what was discussed in the classified meeting, but said many questions remain unanswered.
Its hard to comment on these meetings. So much of this whole thing has been handled badly, he said. Im interested to see whether any information comes out about any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Im hoping at some point we get a final answer on that.
Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) called the briefing one of the most substantial meetings he has ever attended.

My bet is they were briefed on Flynn at that meeting. The reason the repubs are silent now is because they've known for weeks about Flynn and had already made the decision to circle the wagons when the story broke.
Does that fit the known timeline?

They would rather break the country than lose power.
That's what we are up against.
Wounded Bear
(58,670 posts)Actually, I think that is their plan.
1. Break the country.
2. Sieze power in the attendant chaos.
It's how authoritarian regimes get started all over the place.

Flynn was certainly not acting in a vacuum. With MICRO-MANAGER-in-Chief on the scene? You've got to be kidding.
You know, Trump knows.
You know, Pence knows.
You know, most of the Wastington Crowd knows.
Surely, the collusion was happening BEFORE the election.
So... When do the fireworks start? And, OBTW... I NEVER EVER want to hear another petty scandal witch hunt from the Republicans again.

(2,404 posts)... Flynn is the fall guy agreeing to fall on his sword to make the story of deniability plausible.

And just under half of this country supports this. There is no reasoning with them as they have lost touch with reality and live in their own alternative universe. Good riddance.

(58,670 posts)We're talking 46% of people who actually voted, which is closer to 30-35% of the total population.
30-35% then. Thank you.

(4,750 posts)Until the full truth comes out, if it ever does, we will not know to what extent Russia influenced the outcome of the election (and that's not even taking into account Comey's actions or voter suppression).
Even if we learned that HRC won both the popular vote and the electoral vote, an outcome that should in a fair world overturn the installation of Trump and give the presidency to HRC, it appears that, at best (!), we'd end up with a President Ryan. If it was not a free election, where would recourse for HRC be found?
I don't know that Trump actually lost -- but I don't rule it out, simply because NOBODY'S TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW, AND HOW MUCH, RUSSIA INTERFERED IN AN AMERICAN ELECTION. We know they interfered. Will we ever know more than that?

(25,253 posts)leading up to and following it. I forget who it was that did that - but they need to do the same here with this Russian story.
Someone needs to lay this out - from even before the primaries to present day and beyond and fill in all the pieces of the puzzle.
