(16,079 posts)McCain, was gelded a long time ago! Every so often they'll let him out of his stable, so he play his old man pointing at the clouds, part! Then back he goes until the next time...
Gowdy? That useless occupier of air and space!!!
There are no Howard Baker's among the Republicans in the US Congress...this is the congress that Nixon needed!!!
With these hacks, Nixon would have finished his second term!!!

(11,212 posts)McCain comes and goes with his challenges. Otherwise--nobody. Perhaps a "sleeper" will appear, but it sure seems unlikely.

(31,112 posts)this country survives as a Democracy.
The dictator is lining things up as we speak, with the help from Putin.
McCain alone could stop this or give the patriotic side a boost that is remarkable.
John, are you a patriot or a sycophant?

(34,075 posts)"I think everybody needs that investigation to happen," Blunt told KTRS radio, CNN reported.
. . .
Blunt said the Senate Intelligence Committee should also talk to the president's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, "very soon," adding that discussion should "answer a lot of questions."
"What did he know? What did he do? And is there any reason to believe that anybody else knew that and didn't take the kind of action they should have taken?" he said.
Of course he's also saying a lot of other garbage . . .

(13,340 posts)I have a former colleague who is on a Senator's staff. It is well known that McCain DESPISES Trump and honestly considers him a national security risk. He doesn't know what's going to happen, but he said there are some Republicans seething. One issue for him (and others) is that fear Pence more. He is more of an ideologue, and knows how to play the political game. He could cause much more damage, so there is a rock and hard place kind of feeling.
