Coup Thoughts

...was it Pence's idea to provide him deniability through Flynn's apology/resignation, ostensively for lying to the VP, or was it Bannon's?

Pence is now conveniently positioned to slide into the presidency with relative impunity from this scandal, in the event of a Trump resignation or removal from office.

...it was Bannon, though, who the WH said asked Flynn to resign (after Kellyanne said he did so on his own accord, and before they attributed it to Trump today).

I do think most republicans saw Trump as their vehicle into the WH and Pence as their regulating factor. Would republicans seriously resist jettisoning Trump in favor of a Pence regime?
