The resignation of Flynn feels to me a great deal like the resignation of Haldemann and the firing of Dean and Ehrlichman on April 30, 1973. Well over a year before Nixon resigned.
That evening Nixon went on TV and called Ehrlichman and Haldeman "Two of the finest public servants I have ever known," or words to that effect. I knewthen that Nixon wasn't going to survive the Watergate scandal.
This feels a lot like Watergate in fast-forward mode.

(2,176 posts)This may happen, but it's going to take a long time. In the meantime watch out for congress.

(130,970 posts)and fast forward is not fast enough for us, IMO.
Every day in every way he/they are screwing up some things for us, damaging the U.S. and the world.

(100,080 posts)I wish all we had to worry about was Watergate. Instead we're witnessing:
- Election theft
- Foreign involvement in election theft
- Holding the judicial branch of the government hostage
- Treason
- And on top of that, a ruling party with an absolutely reckless and embarassing disregard for the rule of law and our nation's constitution
It's fucking sickening.

(53,339 posts)I cut college classes to follow the Watergate hearings, I was so engrossed. This feels like that, but more momentous.
I joke a lot around here, but these days I have less patience for joking and cartoons. I'm trying to stay focused and keep my concentration, which is difficult with so much information overload.
