Small point-the fact that Trump asked Netanyahu to hold back West Bank settlement expansion...

...doesn't actually make holding back West Bank settlement expansion a bad idea...

There's simply no justification to expand any of the settlement blocs any further.

that there will be hundreds of families without shelter? People living in tents, makeshift shacks, or just outside? Trump has no flippin clue and most likely does not give a damn.

They are being built because the Netanyahu government wants to tie up so much land that a Palestinian state can't be created.

Netanyahu has actually offered cash incentives to Israeli citizens to move to the settlements.

and discrediting anyone in Palestine who calls for any approach involving negotiations or peace.

The settlements are simply an ideological "want". They've never been a need.

And David Ben-Gurion opposed the idea of building extensive West Bank settlements to the very end of his days.
