I only have this thought about today's NRA

I actually belonged to the NRA about 35 years ago. I joined for their magazine; kept up the membership for two or three years. Now days I think they are a bunch of lunatics but I will say this in reference to them. If there were nine other Organizations, each defending just one of the first ten Amendments to the Constitution, the "Bill of Rights", as zealously as the NRA does the 2nd Amendment, then I'd dam sure join all ten of them. Because like them or not, you can not deny that they defend the Amendment of their choice like a junk-yard-dog. They never give an inch, they never quit, they are ferocious in their attacks on opponents. Wouldn't it be nice to have such a proponent for the 1st or the 5th Amendments?

And who, interestingly, never shot a gun in their lives.

Just sayin'

It's the leadership...and the leadership can be removed and replaced, but it'll take more people like your Santa Cruz friends to do it.

4. They only pretend to protect the Second Amendment

Since when did the Second Amendment have anything to do with regulating puppy mills? Since when did the Second Amendment have anything to do with Health Care?

It goes on and on...if they would only confine thermselves the Second Amendment, then they could be considered to be doing a great job...but they like sticking their fingers in pies that either have nothing or very little to do with the 2nd!

At like that junk yard dog, they've finally contracted rabies and are out of their fucking minds...

My belief is that the NRA will go the way of the Dodo if their wetdream of a one party government ever comes true...and then the NRA will be the group calling for stricter gun control, and limits to that same Amendment that they pay lip service to, now!!!
