FBI: White Supremacist Says He Planned to Kill Jews In the Spirit of Dylann Roof

A white supremacist planned a terror attack “in the spirit of Dylann Roof” on a South Carolina synagogue, the FBI alleges.

Benjamin Thomas Samuel McDowell, 29, of Conway, South Carolina was arrested Wednesday for allegedly attempting to buy a gun from an undercover agent posing as a hitman for the Aryan Nations. McDowell is a convicted felon and legally prohibited from buying firearms. McDowell allegedly sought the weapon after spending the past month writing Facebook posts about murdering Jews and praising Roof, who was convicted of murdering nine black churchogers in Charleston in June 2016.

According to an FBI affidavit filed Thursday, McDowell’s internet activity suggested that he set his sights on the Temple Emanu-El, a conservative synagogue in Myrtle Beach.

.......

McDowell had already been convicted on multiple felony charges of animal abuse, violent burglary, larceny, drugs, and assault. During his time in prison for those offenses, police said he developed connections to white supremacists.

Is he still planning on stopping the FBI from investigating right wing extremists?

He is white, so Kelly Anne's statement that the white house feels bad for such killings is in effect so Trump does not have to say anything publicly.

Reporter: I haven't seen anybody in my community accuse you or anyone on your staff of being anti-semitic. However, what we are concerned about, and what we haven't really heard being addressed is an uptick in anti-semitism and how the government is planning to take care of it. 48 bomb threats have been made against Jewish centers in the country in the last couple of weeks. There are people committing anti-semitic acts or threatening to, and ...

Trump, interrupting:...he said he was gonna ask a very simple, easy question. And it's not, its not, not -- not a simple question, not a fair question. OK sit down, I understand the rest of your question.

So here's the story, folks. Number one, I am the least anti- Semitic person that you've ever seen in your entire life. Number two, racism, the least racist person. In fact, we did very well relative to other people running as a Republican -- quiet, quiet, quiet.
See, he lied about -- he was gonna get up and ask a very straight, simple question, so you know, welcome to the world of the media. But let me just tell you something, that I hate the charge, I find it repulsive.

I hate even the question because people that know me and you heard the prime minister, you heard Netanyahu yesterday, did you hear him, Bibi? He said, I've known Donald Trump for a long time and then he said, forget it.

So you should take that instead of having to get up and ask a very insulting question like that.

His response to "how are you going to respond to increased anti-semitic acts and threats" was "sit down, be quiet, I'm the least anti-semitic person ever, you lied, that's an insulting question."

I don't know how soon, but I just feel it won't be long. Will it be a failed attempt like the on Kansas, or will it be an Orlando-style event? Of that, I am unsure.

I know the ADL and the SPLC do good work, but even they aren't getting all the scraps, and neither am I. However, from what I have been reading (and it does include Nazi and Klan sites), they (white supremacists and general anti-Semites) are itching for something targeting Jews. TBH, I was really afraid for Sanders. His candidacy upticked some very nasty, hate-filled rhetoric...not the stuff seen on democratic sites, but the hardcore shit. There are plenty of "soft" Jewish targets, but what I have been reading, actually months before the election, is it may be something well regarded, and that is what really scares me.

will be a liberal response to the fear the alt right is instilling in their stupid, stupid followers. Sort of an alert system wherever hate is found....liberals to rush in. Where the elders and millennials get together outside of government and come up with some wicked smart plan to take the world back from the haters. It is already starting. But I agree the trends are not good. Especially with a president who refuses to acknowledge the danger of right wing extremists and the danger of his own words.

If he wanted to prove he was presidential material, he would have denounced the hate crimes being committed in his name - the day after the election. If he wanted to prove he's presidential material, he should have shut this shit down. But he shows no remorse whatsoever, and it's only going to get worse. If there's a legitimate terror attack, I'm convinced he'll let us die.

would have occurred if that agent hadn't found him first. And I suspect there are more haters out there than agents.

It is a scary time to be a part of a group that's "different" or "the problem" according to the white supremacists.
