The problem with Senate Intelligence Committee hearings?

Primarily, they hide all the information from the public. They are held behind closed doors and the Senators are sworn to secrecy. In other words, they are nothing more than a way to keep the people from knowing what is going on with their government.

If one Senator of one Party were to make comments about the hearings, another Senator of the other Party would be quick to disagree with his analysis. And the people never learn the truth.

We need public hearings and we need a bi-partisan investigation of this entire Russian affair. We need to know how and to what extent the Russians involved themselves in our electoral process? We need to know if Trump and his comrades were negotiating behind the scenes with Russian officials?

So long as they can hide this investigation away in a Senate Intelligence Committee, we will never know the full truth.

the intelligence committee can do whatever it wants. we need something better. we need an investigation that is beyond the control of congress, because both parties have history of hiding crucial information from the people. all we are likely to get is some compromise solution (remember bush/cheney testifying in tandem and not under oath? remember obama NOT prosecuting war crimes?). politics in america is a bipartisan shit-show. and that's a fact.

p.s.: only feet in the street is going to pressure any of them to anything near the right thing.

...who could objectively look at the facts of the case? if that is true, then what's the point?

2. Lack of intelligence??

We need a committee of HONEST law abiding citizens. Lawyers, college professors, people with INTELLIGENCE to read all the evidence. The gop will NEVER truly investigate their Agent Orange, he is too useful for them right now. Meanwhile Putin is getting his hooks more firmly into our government. tRump is bleeding the treasury with weekly trips to Florida with his entire entourage. Money is no object until it comes to infrastructure, health reform, etc. The gop do not even have the courage to face their constituents in town hall meetings, they are ashamed of their agenda, obviously. If they are doing the right thing, why don't they face people, and explain themselves??? No guts, no glory. Cowards the entire group of them.

The entire raison d'etre of the GOPee Congressional coterie is to raid the US Treasury for the benefit of the 1%. To rig the laws so that that 1% becomes the beneficiary/recipient of everyone else's hard-won dollars. Beyond that, they have no purpose.

3. GOP senate hearings??

One of my state senators is Ted Cruz. I have contacted his office daily for over a week. No response. No one to talk to. Only a recording.
I have repeatedly asked all my senate and congressional representatives for public hearings.
It won't happen. GOP is a party of criminals and thugs. The last thing they want is for the public to learn of their complicity in Russian involvement in the election. They love their party and their jobs more than their country.

Public hearings can be a way to obscure facts if they are held prematurely.

8. More secrets.

I may be overly idealistic, but I believe that our government should have NO secrets.
The United States should have a simple, open , stated policy. We stand for the
people, at home and abroad, we promote true democracy, we will back our
values with force only when necessary--basically what's in the Constitution.
Why must there be so much secrecy? All citizens should know what our
representatives know -- complete transparency.
