Activists in L.A. are set for another public demonstration against the Trump administration Monday in a rally coined Not My Presidents Day. Organizers expect several thousand people to turn out in L.A. Monday, while similar protests are also being planned in cities like Chicago, New York, Denver and Washington, D.C.
The L.A. protest is set to begin at 9 a.m. in front of City Hall and continue through 1 p.m. As of Sunday afternoon, more than 4,000 people have RSVPd on the events Facebook page, while another 18,000 expressed interest in attending. But its unclear how the weather with light showers expected for Monday morning will ultimately affect the expected turnout.
Olga Lexell, one of the head organizers of Mondays rally in L.A., told KPCC she and her friends came up with the idea for a protest on Presidents Day in an attempt to continue momentum between the Womens March, which drew millions into the streets on Jan. 21, and the next large protest in Washington planned for Tax Day, April 15.

A major anti-Trump rally is planned Monday in Manhattan as part of a series of "Not My President's Day" demonstrations to be held across the country.
The rallies are planned in at least 25 cities nationwide.
In New York, more than 14,000 people indicated they planned to attend the rally at Columbus Circle on Facebook. The rally is described as a peaceful demonstration outside the Trump International Hotel.
