ACA repeal affects many who aren't aware

PS Tweets about Sweden etc. are distractions from the fight over Obamacare. Don't listen to noise, stay focused. Stopping repeal would be a yuuuge victory for us!

Podcast: Don’t believe the hype! “Anyone who says ACA repeal is fait accompli is just wrong” wsg Andy Slavitt

http://www.eclectablog.com/2017/02/episode-20-get-active-anyone-who-says-aca-repeal-is-fait-accompli-is-just-wrong-wsg-aslavitt.html

Andy Slavitt is in the second half of the podcast:

Andrew M. "Andy" Slavitt is a former Acting Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a position he held from March 2015 to January 2017. A leader of the team which repaired healthcare.gov after its problematic rollout, he was nominated by Barack Obama to run CMS in July 2015.

He helped save the ACA once after the failure of http://Heathcare.gov . Now @ASlavitt is trying to do it again.

and goes far beyond just the exchanges and subsidies. Frankly, if you have health insurance, the ACA is helping you.

The repugs have to push through repeal at all costs.

If delayed even a couple of months people would realize that it's a disaster to repeal. For now the townhalls are the only thing slowing down repeal.

will see their "debt bed" increase drastically (by 300% or more) as all of these costs are shifted onto them as people who defer primary care for too long will wind up in emergency care.

HUNDREDS of hospitals will wind up going under (and rural patients and ambulances will wind up having to drive that extra 20 or 50 miles for care; people may die) or being bought up by Catholic Charities.

I really don't understand what they're thinking. Of course they think "the market" will solve this. The only way to see it is as a way to kill off the poor, imo.

Costs aren't going down and the expenses are not going away (people will eventually go to the ER) the costs are just being shifted around and will likely go WAY up.

And to your point about killing off the poor -- the party of overt, preachy, santimonious morality and religiosity is always pissing on the poor.
