‘Leaving him alone can prove damaging’: Staffers warn Trump needs constant praise and limit on TV

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/02/leaving-him-alone-can-prove-damaging-staffers-warn-trump-needs-constant-praise-and-limit-on-tv/

Campaign staffers told Politico in a report published on Wednesday that the president requires constant praise and a limit on media consumption.

“If candidate Trump was upset about unfair coverage, it was productive to show him that he was getting fair coverage from outlets that were persuadable,” former communications director Sam Nunberg explained. “I would assume the president would like see positive and preferential treatment from those outlets and that would help the operation overall.”

To curb his urge to tweet, campaign officials said that they showed Trump positive coverage from friendly outlets like Breitbart, Fox News, the Daily Caller and the conspiracy theory website Infowars.

“He saw there was activity so he didn’t feel like he had to respond,” one former campaign official pointed out. “He sends out these tweets when he feels like people aren’t responding enough for him.”

And the deterioration of his mental health is well known to family. I doubt that he has any friends who are close enough to tell him the truth. Those surrounding him are merely taking advantage of a dotering old man for what they can gain.

1). He is literally getting away with anything (like a $3 million trip to Florida every weekend at taxpayers' expense).

2). He has communicated in as direct a manner as possible that his staff agree with him and back him to the hilt or they're out

3). He said he was going to do the "rallies" after the Inauguration, and he is, and it just feeds the tragic need for attention and approval.

In short, everyone within spitting distance is indulging his slightest whim.

Pence will be a wounded duck. While he's probably more extreme than Trump and has actual convictions, Pence is also not the media magnet that Trump is - instead of the media focusing on his latest tweet or outrageous statement, they'll focus on Pence's deplorable policies.

...even though I knew who Trump is and what he is...was the "I'll keep you in suspense" moment.

That was the moment where he announced to the world (to paraphrase the late, great Paul Kantner in his Jefferson Starship song Stairway to Cleveland), "Fuck you...I do what i want."

I never bought the "He'll change if he's elected" tripe, but after he made that remark, I basically expected exactly what we have right now.

"a cognitive bias in which low-ability individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly assessing their ability as much higher than it really is . . .

for a given skill, incompetent people will:

fail to recognize their own lack of skill
fail to recognize the extent of their inadequacy
fail to accurately gauge skill in others
recognize and acknowledge their own lack of skill only after they are exposed to training for that skill [ed/ too late for Trump on this one] . . .

If you're incompetent, you can't know you’re incompetent.… [T]he skills you need to produce a right answer are exactly the skills you need to recognize what a right answer is." (wiki)

that everyone around him is smarter than he is! That, for the first time in his life, he is realizing just how stupid and incompetent he is at everything he does. That his Tower that once looked like a forbidding sentry, now looks like a pile of shit stacked high.

That is the face of a man that has come into the reality that he is a loser extraordinaire and it only took winning a rigged election to show how much smarter the folks are around him. How they have much better ideas and look better than he does - always the angry cheap business suit.

Trump knows he is and acts and looks like a cheap business suit. He really knows it now working around true professionals.

When they pander and baby him, he knows it - he just doesn't know how to express his self loathing any other way than to take it out on the most vulnerable around them.

That is the face of a L O S E R and one that knows it!

That old movie starring Judy Holliday, which I think was made in the early 50s. This crude gangster type arrives in Washington DC with lots of ill-gotten money, ready to take over the government. His gang moll, played by Judy Holliday, has come out of a poverty-stricken childhood but is not really dumb, as she proves when a crusading young reporter gives her a fast education in history and civics. It is a great movie, and very pertinent to our day.
