Before unions there were 35,000 work deaths a year. Company towns were common. And violence and death for union workers and organizers were beaten and assassinated. The Pinkerton guards and police were the perpetrators paid by industrialists. Prison labor was common. And 1% of the population own 54% of the country's assets. Meanwhile 44% of the population owned 1% of the country's assets. There was a convict leasing systems for work.
These are some facts revealed on Pirate TV movie "Plutocracy". This movie was just shown on Friday.
And we are facing similar work conditions in the 21st century. We now can see where the GOP wants to go.
