(8,445 posts)Seriously, if someone came to my house and sat on my furniture like that I'd straighten them out very quickly.
Well, I probably wouldn't, but they wouldn't be invited back.

Perhaps she's hiding the stench from her feet, being in stockings.

I can't stop laughing. I've never heard that before. Did you just come up with it?
Still laughing. Omg. Thank you for that! I needed a good laugh.

(8,445 posts)A few months ago some family members came to visit us at our home. My adult niece kicked off her shoes and put her feet on the very nice, very clean upholstered chair she was sitting on. After she left I noticed that there was what appeared to be sand on my chair. I was not happy. She's sort of a rude thing anyway. I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable (other than her), so I didn't say anything, but my opinion of her took a big hit. We're not close so I don't see her often, which is fine with me.

(8,445 posts)But my parents raised me better than my brother and his wife raised her. She's a spoiled little rich girl in her late 30s, and actually proud of herself for being a rude witch. Her dad (my brother) is a staunch repub, so that explains a lot. I don't see them much, by choice. I have my own beautiful family and at this point my adult children are my best friends. I can't say I was ever mother of the year, but my kids are polite, kind, intelligent and productive. And they rewarded me with four of the best grandkids anyone could ask for who have the same attributes as their parents. They know how to act when they're in someone's home. They wouldn't put their shoes up on the furniture in the Oval office, that's for sure.

(15,682 posts)she's doing that. There must be a story behind her obnoxious behavior.

(14,920 posts)it seems clear that her intention is to show contempt and disrespect. She is no shoeless bumpkin, but a skilled and savvy crafter of political messaging (or so we are told). She is fond of saying that her message is Trump's message.

(9,527 posts)That will actually impact people, why does this matter to anybody? It doesn't harm anybody unlike say the Justice Department withdrawing from and requesting dismissal of lawsuits about voting rights, the danger to the EPA, Muslim bans etc.
