PAPERS PLEASE - GOP To Use National ID Under Real ID Act To Scrub Voting Roles.
In an article on Crooks and Liars with the Real ID Act we will end up with a national ID or passport. You will not be able to vote or do just about any business unless you are able to produce a Federal ID card that proves you are a US citizen. This new law will require at least five documents to prove you are who you are. And I guess you will have to produce it any time asked in the future.
So such a law means the government will be able to track your every move and everything you do that needs an ID. So I imagine that what ever you do will eventually require an ID. If you buy groceries, buy tools, rent a house, use a hotel, get married, go to the dentist, et al you will have to use and ID. And if you are stopped for a traffic violation you will have to have Driver's license and Federal ID.
So you will need proof of residence, utility bill, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, State Driver's license to get one. Outside of having a microchip installed at birth you will have to have so many pieces of paper it will not even be funny.
