The same media that is now normalizing Trump will backstab him at the first chance:
Trump has laid out the theme of his Presidency: scandal.
Scandals mean ratings.
Whatever happens, whatever he will do, the media will play for a chance to spin it back to a "scandal"-narrative. (And who are we kidding: Trump will provide.)
Because "Trump is so presidential" doesn't bring ratings and there's too much outrage to be tapped.
Trump thinks that his speech and the praise represent a turning-point in the game. It doesn't. It's merely a time-out. The game will go back to the usual carnage in no time.
Because the speech has not changed a thing. Trump still lies without any hesitation, he still has no ideas how to actually govern, and the investigations into his russian ties are ongoing, as is the public interest in his conflicts of interest.
The media will go back to pointing that out. Because he pissed them off and because it's ratings.
And Trump will be pissed at the media for refusing to roll over and to forget the past.
"Scandal" is the name of the game and it was Trump's idea to play it with the media. Now, as things are getting interesting, he wants to stop playing.
