(115,740 posts)it means the FISA court issued a warrant for the wiretap, which means the applying agency showed probable cause for the need for it. Meaning they thought conversations between someone at Trump Tower and some foreign agent raised national security/criminal concerns.

(3,040 posts)the agency was wiretapping the Russians and Trump and his campaign was recorded speaking to Russian agents.
Either way, if true, it is obvious that a judge found that the warrant on its face showed that there was probable cause of some sort of criminal/national security concern for either Trump or Russian agents in the US.

(15,064 posts)or any President would know about it. The FBI (Justice Department) CIA have to be independent from the President. Not only to protect the integrity of an investigation but also to stay true to the separation of powers. If Trump was wiretapped it would be because there were substantial suspicion to do so. The MAFIA was wiretapped all the time and we all know some of Trump's pals are mobsters.

(1,803 posts)explaining the transcripts that Sen. Coons claims to exist. If there are transcripts confirming collusion between Trump or Trump's Campaign and Russia, Trump needs to do something to divert blame and attention. The Trumpanzees will buy in to this nonsense despite the fact that any wiretap would be authorized by a warrant issued after the Court was assured that probable cause existed to believe that a crime had been committed.
