Couple of thoughts on the tax return votes and Ryan's disastrous leadership
The vote 5 days ago may be the iceberg that sinks GOP house dominance. In a brilliant move house dems forced an on the record vote concerning Trumps tax returns. The vote was 229-185 and all the gopers supported 45's desire to break with the 40 year tradition of a potus disclosing his tax returns.
If the returns are as toxic as we expect, 229 elected reps ,who will stand for election in under 2 years, just validated the cover up of the returns. This is a recipe for failure for each of those gopers. What if the contents of the returns show a personal business monetary motive to work with the Russians? What if those returns lead to organized crime figures? What if those returns were used as probable cause for the FISA warrant to wiretap the potus staff in the month before the election?
Imagine being a rep running for reelection and having to defend that vote? You are basically stuck with voting for a cover up.Ryan and the house leadership have led their party to jumping off the cliff with the hope that 45s returns are going to be clean and there will be net to break the fall. Given all they know about 45, Ryan and his chairs just asked their members to go down with 45. I imagine mass puckering is happening now in the House.
