"And he did eighteen holes," Chuck Todd interjected.

"That is not presidential behavior," Friedman continued. "That is juvenile behavior. And the fact that we have a president who engages in that is to me deeply disturbing. Because then think about this. He is going to have to go to Europe and interact with other European leaders other world leaders. What would you think if you are a world leader going into a meeting? What do I say to this guy? What might he say about this meeting? He is everywhere we looked. And we talked about this before. I quoted my friend Dov Seidman who makes the point; there is a big difference between formal authority and moral authority. This president has formal authority. But every day you see him eroding his moral authority. And in the end that is really going to hurt us."

How many more GD Friedman units (six months) will it take before we "win" in Iraq? What a puffed up A-hole.

saw him on smerconish, and all he did was weave his latest garbagzh throughout his uninsightful, superfluous addition to the obvious

what a coincidence that he's pushing chopped down trees

look up what matt taibbi has to say about him...very entertaining

wonder if his wifey is shrink wrapping/mailing his undies to him on this tour, like in the old days

perfect description of all friedman's sludge:

In his new book, 'Thank You for Being Late,' Thomas Friedman makes a short story long

"The folksiness will irk some critics ... But criticizing Friedman for humanizing and boiling down big topics is like complaining that Mick Jagger used sex to sell songs: It is what he does well." –John Micklethwait, review of Thank You for Being Late, in The New York Times

With apologies to Mr. Micklethwait, the hands that typed these lines implying Thomas Friedman is a Mick Jagger of letters should be chopped off and mailed to the singer's doorstep in penance. Mick Jagger could excite the world in one note, while Thomas Friedman needs 461 pages to say, "Shit happens." Joan of Arc and Charles Manson had more in common.

Thomas Friedman was once a man of great influence. His columns were must-reads for every senator and congressperson. He helped spread the globalization gospel and push us into war in Iraq. But he's destined now to be more famous as a literary figure.

No modern writer has been lampooned more. Hundreds if not thousands of man-hours have been spent teaching robots to produce automated Friedman-prose, in what collectively is a half-vicious, half-loving tribute to a man who raised bad writing to the level of an art form.

Tommy boy is capable of getting it right once in a while. And he seems to be on the mark this time. I think what others have commented on, myself included, is what a colossal fuckwit Friedman is. I will always take a moment to remind folks of what a giant turd suck this guy is. That's all. If Newt Gingrich or Dick Fucking Cheney says something that makes sense, I won't hesitate to spew some well deserved venom on their names and reputations. Some people never deserve a pass.
