Whatever nation you call home, please reconsider your plans. The United States is currently led by a xenophobic President. He has appointed as the head of the agency that runs our Customs and Border Protection (GBP) a man who was once in charge of the Guantanamo Bay prison.
Currently, some travelers from all nations are being subjected to extensive interrogations at entry points, and are often required to open their cell phone accounts for examination. Many are being turned away and forced to return to their countries.
These new measures appear to be escalating, and may soon be expanded further. It may be wise at this time to plan to travel to a different destination for tourist visits. This cautionary message may be necessary until the current President is no longer in office.
As a citizen of the USA, I offer my sincere apologies for the current conditions here. I will do all in my power to Make America Friendly Again.
I hope I will be able to greet you here again soon.

Trump isn't done making it more difficult to visit here--he's in the process of gutting the visa waiver program.

Obviously it's not for the same reasons, but honestly, I'm not financially rewarding places that vote red.

(31,205 posts)also need to be concerned when exiting / re-entering the country. It's gotten to the point that I've asked my wife, who is a Naturalized US citizen, to carry her US Passport with her at all times. At first she dismissed it and I think she is now coming around.

(31,205 posts)from the nkpr. When I was stationed there as well as my son, I used to say only worry when the State Dept. orders the evacuation of dependents and non-essential personal. Today, I'm not so sure with so many key State positions unfilled and 45 so unhinged.
This idiot can get a lot of US citizens and South Koreans killed and I don't mean Kim Jong Un.
