Ryan: Covering more people is just a "beauty contest"

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) admitted Friday that the Congressional Budget Office will likely estimate that millions of people would lose health insurance under the GOP's proposed health care bill.

But he said that the the bill wasn’t meant to address the “beauty contest” of increasing coverage.

“We always know, you’re never going to win a coverage beauty contest when it’s free market versus government mandates,” Ryan told radio host Hugh Hewitt, after Hewitt floated the possibility that the CBO would estimate 15 million people will lose health insurance because of the American Health Care Act.

Of course, he’s right in the sense that the Unaffordable No Care Act’s goal is not to cover people, but to cut spending. Why? To pay for tax cuts for the wealthy. As OMB Director Mulvaney also admitted: The director of the Office of Management said Wednesday that “insurance is not really the end goal here.”

1. He is admitting that covering people is the last thing he cares about. When he takes Medicare

he will say the same thing.

He is going to kill a bunch of us, with me it will be a stress related heart attack, having stress symptoms already.

I am curious what desperate people will do, especially trumpsters. When it becomes clear they very well may die.

Ryan looks at the weak and elderly as expendable, probably because of his own experience growing up!

HC resources and that some of us need to go without and die.

They believe we should not care for the elderly unless it is them, of course, for instance.

Dont believe me? Hell, we treat our elderly like shit in this country unless you are rich.

Personally I just wish I was healthier because I want to fight them, and fight them HARD.

that are ALREADY drawing lines in the sand about purity for 2018, so I doubt it will matter.

They are emboldened by their majority status in Congress. That was the risk of handing over control of all three branches of government to the Republicans. That's what we're seeing at work now. We should have prevented this in 2016, but we failed to do so.

We're reaping the whirlwind of what we allowed the Republicans to sow.

Shame on us! I'm sorry, but this result was predicted by many of us. I was one of those making the prediction Now it is here. Frankly, all we can do is try to learn from it and start reversing this in 2018.

We failed in November. The result of failure was known in advance.

If I sound bitter, it's because I am right now.
