NYT columnist Charles M. Blow finds the leak of this particular tax info very suspicious

Whoever has access to "client copy" of Trump's 2005 tax returns likely has access to others. So why only leak that year's. I smell a rat…

Even w a mortgage you have to release all pages of a return. Why would the "leaker" only leak the first two pages. Something feels off…

Also, Trump refused to confirm the negative 1995 taxes published by the NYTimes. BUT, they confirmed these favorable taxes in hours. #fishy

and trying to boost Trump's.
I'm already seeing that it worked (on FaceBook). I'm sure the press will fall in line Wednesday morning—especially the L.A. Times. I hate that newspaper now.

But now we need a TRUE American to release the real taxes.

If that's the case, I would surmise that the 2005 return would be squeaky-clean to avoid any tax or legal unpleasantness that might work against Melania's status as a newly-arrived immigrant to these shores. It's almost as if the leak of part of the 2005 return was done strategically, knowing that this was one of the few legitimate returns Trump has ever filed.
