Senior care

Spicer's "ineffective" comment about Meals on Wheels got me thinking about senior care in general -- how Meals on Wheels probably makes it possible for people who own their homes (or have substantial equity), but don't have other assets, to stay in their homes, and so on.

Anyway, Meals on Wheels aside, it's very difficult to get decent in-home care. I've known some wonderful caregivers, but the care provided by people placed by agencies can be extremely inconsistent. I came across an article about a newcomer on the senior home care scene, Hometeam. The caregivers are all employees who get benefits and are paid $15 an hour (compared to the 10 bucks other agencies pay their "contractors&quot . Anyway, if you are looking for care for a loved one (or know someone who is), you might want to check out Hometeam and see if they offer services in your area.

It may be bad form to kick your own post, but since it got some recs with relatively few views, thought I'd give it a kick to see if others might being interested.

Offering better quality service ultimately pays off. I for one would be willing to pay more for piece of mind. And I like their app reporting activities.
