against something (great memory, I know) Bush did/was trying to do (war powers/iraq or whatever) and pissed off dems so much for her trouble, that she lost her seat?

might've been some contretemps with a Hill cop over being searched or something, too

anybody?

She accused bush of having advance knowledge of 9/11 and letting it happen.

GA has open primaries. The republicans came out to vote in the dem primary for her opponent and McKinney was defeated.

Very unpredictable and with little control over her mouth. She did some good things, but made a lot of people very uncomfortable. Her loss was largely due to republicans crossing over to vote in the dem primary, but there were many democrats who wanted a change too.

I don't know what she is doing now. btw she ran for President in 2008 as Green Party candidate.

She introduced articles of impeachment against Bush, Cheney and Rice. She acted the part of a committed Democrat and patriot, but was scorned and humiliated by the Republicans.

But, do you think he might have gotten played by the Repubs? He came out with Hillary's emails but perhaps he was shown them by Trump's folks or top Repubs who threatened to go after him if he didn't go public. Comey said his reason for talking was he had told the Repubs if something new came up he would be required to make that information known. So they had some leverage. If true then Comey should be pissed and this would be helpful. Still, there needs to be a special commission to continue this investigation.

If the rethugs tried to make him do something he didn't want to do - and if he felt like being even-handed with the law - Comey could always air their crimes to the world.

Too bad for the world that Comey didn't seem to meet either of those conditions. He's as guilty of the cover-up as the dirtiest rethug.

IMO he's full of it. He said today he couldn't comment at the time on the trump/collusion investigation going on since July 2016 because there was no conclusive proof but he turned around and sent the letter to Congress on Oct 11 about allegedly new Clinton emails before he saw them, as if that's conclusive proof.

That's double talk. He hadn't even looked at the supposed new emails, which turned out to duplicates, before anouncing it to the public.

That's called bullshit.

I don't trust him. He put trump in the White House and now he's acting as if he's an honest broker trying to make it right — trying to make him putting trump in the White House right?

Yeah, right!

I don't trust him.

And answer them to our satisfaction. As it stands now, it looks like rethugs are corrupt, treasonous toadies for Russia and willing to commit any kind of crime to cover their asses.

The Republican party that benefits from the intrusion spends their input and capital complaining about leaks of an actual crime benefiting the Republican Party. This is like complaining about a potential robbery while the thieves are already in the house. There is no fix to this irony. Comey needs to take responsibility for this mess, he engineered the permanent harm.

Maxine certainly asked the right questions, reaches the correct conclusions, and her suggestions for going forward--demanding that Comey answer questions about why he tipped the scales so much for Trump--certainly should be answered by Comey, or someone close enough to know his reasoning.

It was absolutely shameful what Comey did under the cover of his office.

She's exactly right: Why was it alright for Comey to go public last year with Hillary's investigation and not Trump's?
