Conway: Comey's testimony opened more questions than answers

By LOUIS NELSON 03/21/17 09:11 AM EDT

FBI Director James Comey’s testimony Monday before the House Intelligence Committee, in which he confirmed the existence of an investigation into Russia’s interference into the 2016 election and said there is no evidence to support President Donald Trump’s claim that his predecessor ordered a wiretap of Trump Tower, “left open a lot more questions than it answered,” counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway said Tuesday.

Appearing on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” Conway said just two points from Comey’s testimony jumped out to her: first, that there is no evidence to suggest that Russian interference resulted in the changing of actual vote totals, and second, confirmation from Comey and NSA Director Mike Rogers that “all Americans should be troubled about these intelligence leaks.”

Such leaks have already proven damaging to the Trump administration in just the short time since it moved into the White House, forcing the resignation of national security adviser Michael Flynn and exposing the embarrassing contents of phone calls between the president and other foreign leaders.

Conway was not asked by the “Fox & Friends” panel of hosts about Comey’s and Rogers’ assertion that neither the FBI nor NSA had any evidence to support Trump’s wiretapping claim, one the White House has continued to defend despite mounting pressure to either admit a mistake or present proof of the allegation.

the GOP is pushing the bee ess line that somehow since there is no proof that the election was effected, then we should just let whatever Russia did slide.

convenient that, particularly if the Trumpists are dirty.

funny though that Trump demands an accounting of the affect 3 million "illegal" voters had on the election that he won.

but we should not make anything of a threat to our elections from a foreign nation.

The Trump admin is dirty, it is just a matter of figuring out how dirty. There MAY not have been any collusion, but there was unethical and illegal behavior on the part of Flynn, Manafort, and that other weasel I can't remember his name.
