My theory is that the disaster that is the Trump

Admin enjoys so much support from the "head-in-the-sand" republicans because many of them are being blackmailed by the Russians who are pulling their strings.

I don't believe that the Russians only hacked Dem computers these last years. And I think the most steadfast elected republican Trump supporters are being threatened with exposure by the Russians. Sen John Cornyn, I'm looking at you!

Postg from phone and I'm unable to link to today"s article at Politico... http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/trump-wiretapping-claim-john-cornyn-236302

but i wouldn't think the list would be too long. it's one thing to get dirt on a few, it's another to get dirt on a few hundred.

on the other hand, they also can let it be known that they can *plant* dirt on anyone easily enough. almost as damaging, politically.

that said, i reject the implied premise that republicans aren't happy to go along voluntarily, that they'd resist were it not for the blackmail or threat or blackmail.

personally, i think they simply can't not back a president of the same party. republicans congresscritters are often from strongly republican districts/states and their voters went heavily for donnie and would likely punish disloyalty severely. i think the fear or getting primaried keeps most of them in line without the need for blackmail.

they won't abandon donnie until the republican rank-and-file does first.

they could use Republicans' internally stated intentions as blackmail. You KNOW there is embarrassing shit there, possibly criminal. Laughing about starving seniors is one thing, but if they discuss collusion with Russia, public release would mean game over for dozens of them.
