affluent individuals. They have been watching what has been going on. I'm thinking that the Reps who are more educated are going to turn. The dumbasses will continue to support him.

(8,133 posts)We live in Naples, Fl which is wealthy and very Republican. I thank gawd I'm a social worker and all MY coworkers are liberals and we regularly "rip up" Trump and the Repubs. It's a little haven in the middle of Republicanville.
These are not friends of his btw, he can't stand most of them.

(17,865 posts)That voted for Trump. They have definitely gotten more quiet lately, but they were all for the budget (got to cut spending you know).

(11,949 posts)Much to my embarrassment, it took President Obama to show me the error of my ways, being a republican for 30 years. Now a proud member of the Democratic party.
And at work we keep it friendly. Because my co-workers are not religious nut jobs, but they think conservatism is cool...kids of the 80's you know.
But they are now over Trump.
However, the religious ones are unreachable. Controlling women and minorities and those that actually enjoy life will be their eternal goal. They would welcome a military coup if it installed at Christian state. I have started telling them they are no different than ISIS and man, does that piss them off.
