and watched it in its entirety, less 15 min, perhaps.
I've always liked her when she appeared on other programs, and, when she had an afternoon hour.
But today was a master program. She had great guests, who appeared several times and she - amazingly - let her guests talk and finish their thoughts without interrupting them. She had slides that clearly summarized the news events.
This was the first that I realized that when Nunes ran to the White House and had his pres conference, that he said he found recording of Trump transition team (of which he was a member) but nothing about Russia. By the end of the week, Joy added, he "neverminded" it.
And, that Nunes lost all his net worth in a winery with strong ties to Russia. What are his qualification to head an intelligent committee, thundered one of her guests - Malcolm Nance.
I always like to listen to David Corn and he reported how Nunes said, in reply to his question that he had no idea who Roger Stone or Carter Page were..
I know that all of these are old news for many, but summarizing it so clearly and succinctly was important to watch.
Please, MSNBC, get Joy to replace Chris Matthews. I cannot stand it when he asks a good question and never let his guests respond. Immediately trying to scream his own reply.
Whom do I write at MSNBC?

(46,166 posts)I'd hate to miss even one. I'm just starting to watch today's show. Her interview style is uplifting and she's so very smart.

(11,301 posts)Nance and Corn are always great and I follow then on twitter. And always liked Frank Rich so today was a special treat. I don't like to be a critic and I liked one of her other guests but he should stop chewing gum on camera.

(32,342 posts)She's the only one who really commits to keeping a diverse panel of guests too. I noticed after the election, a lot of the others went back to mainly booking older white males.

(36,281 posts)but Joy is awake when I am, and I've been catching her show lately.
If MSNBC moved her to a weekday slot, I doubt the show could maintain its more relaxed format. Remember, she used to do "The Reid Report" afternoons -- 2 PM Eastern -- and it didn't do much better than other afternoon shows. By taking a weekend time slot, she's locked into lower ratings but gets more air time. They'd never give her (or anyone, really) two hours in a row of more valuable prime time airtime. And that longer time slot gives her leeway to stretch out the discussions.
Be careful what you wish for, especially when you're wishing it for someone else.

(47,521 posts)but replacing Matthews, who has the cushy time slot of 7:00 pm eastern will keep her audience high.
