So what do we demand for passage of a debt ceiling extension

The R's will need us in the House to pass a debt extension, but I'm not very inclined to help them. What would you demand for assistance?

Personally, I believe the debt ceiling is borderline unconstitutional, I would demand it be eliminated.

In fact they'd love to halt the country. They can pick and chose who gets paid. Military only would be their decision.

not raising it would be catastrophic and the fear is the Repukes will fail to raise it.

eliminate it -- meaning it no longer exists. Authorize the Treasury to issue debt necessary to pay for bills which have been appropriated by congress. Get rid of this stupid need to increase it every 6 months - 1 yr.

If you want to reduce the deficit, then stop spending or raise taxes. Don't make us play stupid games by printing 1T dollar coins.

If the R's can be trusted to avoid disaster by raising the debt ceiling, then everything they say is a bunch of argle-yargle-blargle that can be ignored.

If they can't be trusted to avoid disaster then they're no better than the Jonestown Kool-Aid drinkers. We D's should insist that the moderate and sane R's leave the R party and join us D's. If the supposedly sane/moderate R's won't do that, then the entire R party is Kool-Aid drinkers and we're all screwed no matter what we do.
