this makes me wonder? I hear he is a pretty good golfer...but. He claims to be a 2.8 handicap. I was pretty good myself in the day but one's swing changes when one gets older. I'm 6 foot tall 175 pounds. Most courses use a method to determine which tee one uses, the worse golfers get to hit from the closer tees but they use a formula; your handicap plus your age. Trump's handicap, 3 (rounded) plus his age 70, equals 73, that means that he can't hit from the senior tees. To hit from the senior tees the number, in most courses I play, has to equal 80.
I have a 10 handicap, I am 69 years old, I play the ball down in all conditions, I don't use the foot wedge or do overs or gimmes. I don't play from the senior tees and I used to be a long hitter but let me tell you, there are par fours where I hit good shots and struggle to reach the green in two.
I wrote a too long post just to say, with Trump not eligible to hit from the senior tees there is no way his handicap is 2.8. I will play him next weekend, if he invites me, even up, 100 rubles a side, 20 ruble greenies, and 20 ruble sandies.

I'm an avid golfer too. I'm a 3. I've seen his swing, and i've seen his putting stroke. There is no possible way he's a 2.8. Absolutely zero. I would estimate something like low 90's. Then writes a 4 down anytime the par putt gets within 3 feet of the hole. Takes the "gimme" but doesn't count it. Drive; second shot; chip to 25 feet; putt to 3 feet. Writes down a 4. Just fails to count the fifth stroke.

14. Golf cheaters

I used to play with a guy who was a decent golfer, low to mid eighties. However he could not stand to take a penalty for a lost or out of bounds ball. If he hit one in the woods he magically found it and it was always in a spot where it wasn't a penalty. We always said that he carried a hand wedge in his bag. As for Trump he owns the courses that he plays on and he feels he can do what he wants. You would never see Trump in a true Pro-Am Tournament because each group has an official and your partner keeps your score. McRory said that Trump shot in the 70s. Somehow I find that hard to believe.
