who have so little experience in government? This question strikes me every time I see someone from the White House's principal staff. I truly can't remember anything similar in the past.

(10,252 posts)James Buchanan, POTUS before Lincoln, who probably hastened the onset of the civil war. And Warren G. Harding, whose tenure was once thought to be the most corrupt until Trump came along. Remember Teapot Dome scandal? that was Warren G. Harding. He also died of a heart attack, while in bed with a prostitute in the San Francisco's Palace Hotel. The prostitute bit was hushed up, but it was common legend when I lived in SF years ago.
But I have to say that even those 2 inept Prez can't hold a candle to the incompetence, corruption, stupidity, and treason of Trump the Liar in Chief.

(129,009 posts)They don't need to know a single thing about the "business" they are managing if they are a superior "manager".
This train of thought has been pervasive over the past 30 years and flies against the wisdom and tradition of a number of successful business leaders who "started at the bottom in the stock room" and worked their way up to CEO (where they had their children do the same to prepare them to take over) versus the culture of vulture capitalism where you buy businesses to milk the profits and then sell off what's left.
