2. These investigations will take many, many months.

There are certainly things going on that the public is not hearing about. Days or weeks may go by with little or no news, but that doesn't mean nothing is happening. If an independent commission is to investigate it will take months just to set it up because funds will have to be approved, people chosen, etc. Watergate took two years.

5. I wished things happened faster

One thing that I've been reading on different websites is that Trump could pardon Flynn, Manafort, etc etc. And if Trump were impeached (very difficult) and or he resigned, Pence could pardon him and so on.

Are Dems almost powerless since republicans control everything?

seem to be moving along and unimpeded thanks to Sessions recusal.

The Senate and House are being sabotaged or delayed by the GOP

They really don't want a Nixon Redux and they will obstruct and cover up until they realize that there is a real danger that they will lose their seats.
