to fix the ACA? Once its fixed (Single Payer/Medicare type system), and tens of thousand lives would be turned around a month? It would only a matter of time until the Dems. procure all 3 branches of govt.
and Republican party would become an after thought for many years!

'If' he's still for it, this 'may' be one area where Democrats could possibly work with him a bit.

(24,259 posts)'Fix' doesn't mean to make it so that it works better for the majority. 'Fix' is a word they use when they want voters to think they actually care about them while doing their best to pull support, etc to help it implode. Basically when a Republican uses the word 'fix' it mostly means 'neuter'.
It's similar to how they've tried to 'fix' Social Security while cutting a lot of the funds that are needed to run it properly, etc.

(423 posts)Trump would get credit for any bill's passage, and the Dems would be giving it to him. Hell fucking no. I'd rather wait until after the impeachments and work with whoever comes next.

But, unfortunately, there have been tons of threads here recently suggesting it literally. (Of course, they only post one side - no Democrat better be caught dead working with the Republicans, which makes the fact that they are willing to sacrifice my daughter's life for political game-playing more acceptable, I guess. In case you can't tell, I'm beyond my last nerve with people advocating putting political concerns first - without realizing, or caring about, the human consequences.)

1. No repeal
2. No loss in coverage or care
3. No PP cuts or reductions in women's health services

(11,738 posts)I am curious because there are people that keep bringing up how Democratic law makers should work with Trump to "fix" Obamacare.
How do you see that going, given Trump's actions during the primary, post election, and with the reaction of the Republican party?
Democrats are the party of "government helping people" so we are naturally inclined to do what we can toward that end, but again what should we expect from the other side?

if i were a congressional Democrat, i would think very carefully before taking any position that could be construed as aligned with Trump, especially while operating from the minority
now is the time to take bold stances for a progressive agenda, not to waste effort conjuring up back-room deals with a known con-artist "president".
