I do not think any President has ever reached this level of corruption and incompetence, while having this low of an approval in the polls in such a short period of time.
It usually takes a few years for even the most failed Presidencies.

Don't expect it anytime soon. They control the Gov. and show no sign they will move against Trump.

(3,666 posts)Both the Republicans and Trump are in for a rude awakening. The events of last week were just the beginning.
The Republican party is a fractured dysfunctional mess. They thought that Trump was there mainly to rubber stamp their bills. But it turns out they are so divided against themselves and so at odds with where most Americans are, that they aren't going to be able to pass any significant legislation for him to rubber stamp.
And he is so competent and corrupt that he has NO power to sell ANYTHING to the people at large. He's got a small determined minority backing him. But most of the country LOATHES him and suspect that he is INSANE and MENDACIOUS and INCOMPETENT.
HOw's that for a front man.
Plus he is under FBI investigation for possible collusion with an adversary. It's only going to get worse. By midsummer his numbers will be in the 20's. By midsummer the Republican Caucus will be in disarray, full of backbiting and recrimination.
They won't exactly turn on Trump. They can't. But they will do everything they can cover their own sorry arses.
